Truth be told, I don’t spend nearly enough time in my book writing about the grapple. No, instead I’m just IN the grapple, at the effect of the grapple. Getting the shit kicked out of me by the grapple. Wishing I was somewhere else, anywhere else but here…in the grapple. Maybe I write about it afterwards, but usually it’s very summarized and lacks context and depth. In that form, it rarely serves me as clarity is missing.

There’s nothing fulfilling about that. No it is about embracing the fact that we don’t know what the future could look like, but here’s what we would love for it to be. This is what unlocks the imagination and encourages each of us to see how everyday life could be different and why that would matter. This sort of thinking creates space for the next big idea, because our creative efforts now have some guide rails to explore within.

In Memory of My Brother

Around this time I lost my brother. He was murdered actually. It's tough some days and like most of us, we wear our regrets and emotions like chains most can't see. I choose not to. I choose to be open about it. There is power and freedom there. I've forgiven the person who pulled the trigger, most say they can few really do. I've been able to forgive because I was willing to listen and understand.

September (9.11) was a significant date for every person on this planet. Some more than others, but regardless we were all impacted by the events that unfolded in New York at the World Trade Centre. On that day I was given an opportunity and while at the time I would not have considered that to be true, the fact is I was/am here for something bigger.
