Truth be told, I don’t spend nearly enough time in my book writing about the grapple. No, instead I’m just IN the grapple, at the effect of the grapple. Getting the shit kicked out of me by the grapple. Wishing I was somewhere else, anywhere else but here…in the grapple. Maybe I write about it afterwards, but usually it’s very summarized and lacks context and depth. In that form, it rarely serves me as clarity is missing.

I don’t know what the future looks like. We could be headed for a dystopian nightmare. The planet could stop working and die. AI could take over the world. Or not. The constant distractions our mind creates keeps the heart from doing what it needs to do - connected and feel connected to humanity and to one another. To meet another human being where they are. Wherever that might be.

No it is about embracing the fact that we don’t know what the future could look like, but here’s what we would love for it to be. This is what unlocks the imagination and encourages each of us to see how everyday life could be different and why that would matter. This sort of thinking creates space for the next big idea, because our creative efforts now have some guide rails to explore within.
